**Cajun Bandit Kettle Conversion w/Rotisserie mod & Chicken PRON**
Ordered the Cajun Bandit 22.5" Weber Kettle Conversion kit with the stainless steel door. http://www.cajunbandit.com/
Showed up on the doorstep, well packed, and it took a few minutes to drill 3 holes for the legs and another for the lid thermometer. I used a One-Touch Silver with 2 handles in the bowl. I wanted to be able to use the Weber Rotisserie ring and the Cajun Bandit conversion allows that, unlike the 22.5" WSM (unless you use a kettle lid) Used a new WSM thermometer and bezel I got from a guy that had a Pop Up Squirrel knock his lid off a 3rd floor balcony! ****FIRST COOK***** Char-Broil rotisserie basket with marinated Plowboy Wings and Shakin' the Tree Thighs. Kingsford Comp briqs with Orange wood for smoke, using the charcoal ring from an 18" WSM. ****Jerk Marinated Thigh trimmings, skewered and dusted with Jamaican Firewalk!**** ****Chicken Legs with Shakin' the Tree under the skin, then dusted with Tsunami Spin on the outside**** Finger lickin' finger food!! I did this direct w/o the waterpan and the temps were @380-400* the whole time. The One-Touch vents were open at first firing then closed almost the entire cook. I used too many briqs, and the K-Comp burns hot hot! But that learned, it was a fun cook and the chicken turned out great! ***FIRST IMPRESSIONS**** At first glance, I wasn't thrilled that the Cajun Bandit handles, grate holders and door hinge are pop riveted instead of bolted, but it is solid, the door doesn't leak, the legs are strong and sturdy and the one piece cylinder is rolled and fits the kettle securely. I will need to order a lower grate from Weber. Anyone else got one??

All sounds extremely tasty! I was getting a little Dizzy thinking about the seasonings.
Why did you use the charcoal ring from 18' WSM instead of the one with the Bandidt? Nice report...a cajun bandit may be in my future.

The Cajun Bandit and 22.5" WSM rings are huge and hold a lot of charcoal, I used @10lbs (2 chimneys worth) and it was even too much for this cook.

That is very cool. Might do this instead of building a second UDS.

You have me thinking Swamp.
I may have to persue this route. Is the bandit worth it in your opinion?

I am interested in the chicken, it looked great. I have been toying with the idea of a Bandit, since I can't seem to get off my tail and get a drum.

http://tvwbb.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a...023/m/45010879 Not sure if people are reluctant to post there, I had some initial concerns and folks e-mailed me their impressions and setups. I've not heard anyone being disappointed with it. I was going to use an old Silver with the daisy vents, plug them and drill new ones along the side of the bowl like a WSM, but may keep an eye out for an OTG instead or try it on the Performer. Early on I e-mailed Chris Perres about getting one without the door cutout and he said it was possible. Do I think its worth it? You could buy two Cajun Bandits for the price of a 22.5" WSM, but I haven't done a low n' slow with it yet so I can't honestly say. JD and I have cooked on the big bullet twice now and they work great too. I think it has more versatility. Well-I'm a drumhead and they have been my go-to chicken cookers-even with the rotisserie. So if the drum isn't an option for some people, this will certainly fit the bill.
