I will shortly be finishing (I hope, finally) a 1600 sq ft patio/deck area.

Question:
Other than "decor" what practical advantage does one of these have over a traditional smoker/grill ?
Restated--"If I decided I wanted one, how would I justify it to the CFO (wife)?

I also understand "that is just what I want" as a reason

Practical Kapn? If it were practical to buy another 45 I'd never have one. You can always use another gun, or BBQ pit, or muscle car.

One of the first outdoor kitchen setups I ever saw had an outdoor fireplace at one end of the patio and they had an arbor style setup above the patio with vines growing on it. No real cover from the arbors; it was just for looks. But it was cool as chit.

So, since then Ive always pictured having a fireplace in my outdoor patio area. Since Ive seen these fireplaces with the pizza oven built in... man, I just gotta have one!! You know what I mean?! The only thing that'll stop me is $$$. Ive got some money set aside for this project and hopefully I can cover all I want.

Well said.

I take that as "I just want one".

Nothing wrong with that

Well I cant get a price on those pizza ovens without contacting the companies. Bummer. I just want to set a budget.

As my coworker says, "if you have to ask the cost, you cant afford it". Double bummer. BeerGuy knows where I work. Im not rich.

Better yet; just dig a hole, dump a bag of "Quickcrete" in, put the bottom half of a Weber kettle in and coat the top half of the Weber kettle with another bag of Quickcrete.

Here's another idea for a bigger oven; Get yourself the front end of a car or truck minus the engine. Then shovel dirt up to hood level. Then pour a couple of bags of Quickcrete on the hood.

Mark, have I ever told you that you're absolutly no farkin help at all?

Just kidding Bro. You know I love ya.

You're like the exact opposite of finding out that my neighbor is a mason and loves to build stone BBQ pits and pizza ovens. Jeeze!!

I do have 3 brick masons in my church and Im hoping that I can get one of these pizza units as a kit and then hire one of my friends to do the masonry work. Im going to ask all 3 if they have ever seen one of these jobbies or ever installed one and get their input before proceeding.

Thanks

Were going to build this on next year. Doesn't look like it will cost a fortune.
