The only special accessory you need to install it is the fan adaptor. BBQ Guru should be able to tell you which one would be best suited for a UDS. For my WSM I used the standard adaptor and cut a hole to mount it below the charcoal grate. I mounted the DigiQ mounting bracket to the side and drilled 3 holes for eyelets for the probes. Took less then an hour. Hope this helps.

I have the DigiQII for my UDS. I put a large BGE vent on my drum so I got the BGE adaptor. Works like a charm. For cheapest way, I would say just get the bulkhead adaptor and you're set.

Step by step:
1. Build a uds
2. Order Guru with bulkhead
3. Install bulkhead
4. Read the manual that comes with the guru
5. Bon Appetite
