Default Help with cleaning a grill

Yo fellas,

ReggieDean here. Just got a used TS250 and it needs to be cleaned of the grease layers. Didn't want to anger the BBQ gods by cleaning an already "seasoned" grill if I wasn't supposed to. Is it ok to completely clean the grill and can I use an oven cleaner? Please advise this noob!

Regards,

Reg

I think we need some more info. Like maker of the grill. I don't know grills by model number. In general you can clean it completely and see what condition it is in. Look for rust spots that may break through. If the grates are too rusted, I would just get new ones. I would use a scraper and wire brush to see what you can get off. What kind of material is made from?
