Default Must be turkey day!

With all the posts on turkey today its good to see I was not alone.

Turkey was on sale for 70 cents a lb, so here is my 13.5 lb turkey, spatched not brined on my backwoods gater.

Ran 300-350 foiled pan for 2 hours and 15 min, yes thats right 2 hours and 15 min, could be faster if i brined..

Best turkey yet for me, i have cooked them on my wsm, bubba keg stumps, but this one was nice crisp and juicy, that convection must do something nice to birds!!

Yes I know i left the auto popper on, and it didn't pop, just another reason not to trust them as this bird was definitely done, and juicy!

Looks great...

I suggest to anyone wishing to cook a turkey for the first time to buy one ahead of time and practice. The finished product can always be frozen for another time so you are not sick of turkey when the big day comes around.

Thanks for sharing..
