So Mrs. SJ and I went to Maui. I was threatened with death to unplug.
On the advice of Brethren in a previous thread, I went looking for Iron Imu. Turns out, I had to drive no further than 100 yards from my condo.
On Lower Hoopiilani Road, right by the Gazebo in Kapalua was.......
A frickin brick and mortar restaurant!
I went for the sampler, which had some ribs, some brisket (+$2), some chicken and some Andouille sausage.
Because I'm trying to be good, I had veggies for my sides.
The ribs were the star! Fall off the bone tender! Dry rubbed and smoked in a trailer (which I forgot to take a snap of).
Two sauces: A Ghost-pepper based hot sauce and a guava-based sweet sauce.
The meat didn't need them, but they were a nice touch.
If you're out in Maui, take the trip to the West Side and feast!
