Pitmaster Club

I've been using Comic Sans MS font at Size 3, 4, or 12 pt with the color maroon where available or red where it isn't available for as long as I've been posting on website forums. I've made 40 posts on this website since joining and have not been approached by a moderator or Admin telling me my choice of font, size, and color are in violation of any site rules.


Norm's assertion to the contrary, I've started exactly ONE thread on the subject of another website, this one on the Pitmaster Club at Amazing Ribs.com. I haven't been here very long and have only STARTED 5 threads to the best of my knowledge. And already I'm disliked by one or more members. I guess that's why this site, like many other sites, has an 'Ignore' function. If you don't like my choice of font/size/color or still think I'm a troll, by all means, PLEASE put me on your 'Ignore' list. That will solve both of our problems. Does that work for you?

dubob, Several guys on here do pastrami regularly. You can get the Pstrami scoop on here. :thumb: They corn/cure their own Briskets etc......think a few do Pork Pstrami Too.
I just buy corn beef n smoke it then steam it cuz I’m Lazy.........:twitch:

Thank you Sir, for the kind words. I don't, for even a minute, think this site is lacking in a wealth of information. And the other BBQ sites I'm registered on provide lots of useful information as well. And where this site doesn't require a paid membership to access that wealth, the one I'm asking about does. So, I'm just trying to find out if the required annual fee on the other site is a good value. One can not know if one does not ask. :biggrin1:

On topic.... I bought Meatheads book (excellent book! get if you dont already have it)
It came with a 90 day trial to the Pitmaster Club. I did not renew once it ran out.
Theres a lot of info there but I honestly believe the Brethren is better.

Apology graciously accepted. And prayers and well wishes for a successful outcome with the treatments and illness. And thought I'd change the color - just this once. Hope you like it. :-D

You are good guy, Norm. Best of luck with the chemo, and you will be in my prayers. God answered mine. I just finished 7 months of treatment, and I am in complete remission. There is always hope!

Color codes in member names mean something.

GOLD/RED is the forum Admin and our Founder/Owner. Badger and BBQChef33 respectively.

RED or GOLD text denotes Administrators posting in official capacity and NOT as a member.

Green are our moderators. They enforce our rules and ensure our forum remains a family friendly atmosphere. Green text denotes moderators posting in official capacity and NOT as a member.

Purple are members of our governing body and our senior members. They help set policy and rules, assist new members and lead by example.
If you need help or have questions, anyone from this administrative staff can be contacted for assistance
Blue is the general population.

The mod and admin team actually discussed this when you first started posting and decided the since you are using dark red, and not Red, we decided that it was fine. The two are easily distinguishable. If it were a problem, you would have heard from us :-D

I know we are dropping the subject that started this thread, but it was really cool to see folks acting like adults on the internet for once.:clap2: Thanks to both of you (Norm and Bob) for that. Norm, just keep being you and keep fighting. You are loved by all here, and we are all there for you no matter what you need and no matter your mood. No BS "thoughts and prayers." Just heartfelt feelings about your situation.

From the standpoint of my original question, I've got enough responses to make an informed decision about the Pitmaster Club on AmazingRibs.com. Thank you one and all for your input. It made the decision easier to make.

And not that it matters to anybody but me and site management, my font color is actually Maroon. :thumb:
