Great Barbecue in the Bay Area

Hi y'all,
A friend of mine lives in San Francisco and he loves barbecue (who doesn't), and can't find real bbq there. Does anyone know of any spot or any brethren that lives and vends there?

Landarc told me to go to Phat Matt's, in Oakland. Super nice people, and tasty BBQ. Plus, they're Brethren.

Phat Matt's in Oakland just across the Bay bridge. Great food and Matt and Charlotte are first rate folks.

Memphis Minnies on lower Haight Street in San Francisco used to be good. I haven't been there for several years (I avoid the City) The owner Bob Kantor died about a year ago----I do not know even if it is still open----but worth looking up if it still is open
