Anybody have any suggestions of great BBQ/Smoking books one should have in their library? I feel like doing some reading this week.

Not only receipts, but just good content about general BBQ would be nice too.

I like the Big Bob Gibson BBQ Book and the Wicked Good BBQ book. Lots of good recipes in there besides the BBQ staples.

Peace Love and BBQ is a good book also, but it wasn't as good of a read for me personally.

Books are nice to have but I enjoy watching people do bbq and grilling on YouTube. There are 6 or 8 channels that I watch regularly and I probably have learned more from them than I have from any book.

Jim - curious, what channels do you subscribe to? Thanks!

Agree on the books referenced above, I'd definitely add Myron Mixon's book to the list if you don't have it.

I went down to the local second hand thrift store and rummaged through the books and came out with some gems. I've been meaning to make a post of them but haven't got around to it. I John williamghams world champion BBQ, barbecue & smoke cookery, outdoor cooking and Betty crockers barbecue cookbook for like 8 bucks total.

don't forget the steven reichlin series of books. everyone should own those.

Wow! LOTS of suggestions.

Smoke & Spice seems like the one to get first. I'll head out tomorrow and see if I can grab it.

I agree, YouTube has some great watching. Though I find my wife being more receptive to me reading a book in bed each night than being on the laptop. click clack click clack on the keyboard...

Peace, Love, and BBQ by Mike Mills is may favorite. Great book with some history of BBQ.

For a Texas slant, The Legends of Texas Barbecue Cookbook by Robb Walsh.
Prose plus great old pictures.

Serious BBQ, Big Bob Gibson's BBQ, and Dr. BBQ's Big Time BBQ are a few of my favorites. Steven Raichlen's Planet BBQ is also an interesting book for a different kind of grilling/BBQ book.
