LOL...Jester is actually quite scared of the pits when they are in action after an unfortunate encounter with piping hot brisket juice as I pulled a wrapped brisket from the pit.

He has been pulling wood off the lower rack of Earl the few weeks since I had some left on the rack after my last cook, but when they are hot, he ain't around...

OK, so this was last year's "Spring Break Project" (I work at a school). What better way to compliment last year's "grill" project than this year's "bar" project. Toney's Bar & Grill is now mostly complete. The door from the grilling / smoking area leads to the garage. Just inside the garage door, we now have a place to relax and enjoy a couple cold ones while the meat cooks just outside. There is also a cheap CraigsList find Pool Table in the garage.

I have a BBQ house with a Brazilian 'Churrasqueria' style BBQ Pitt, an Argentinean type 'Parilla' Grill, and the wood-fired Pizza oven. The UDS is kept outside, unless I need to get rid of a wasps nest, and then I stand it in the middle of the BBQ house and let it smoke the little critters away.

This building is being dismantled this year, and built somewhere else on the property, and I am replacing it with something more all-weather, including a better kitchen area with a new brick built pizza oven, a BBQ Grill (something like this http://www.grillery.com/khxc/index.p...rch36sidewheel and hopefully a Brazilian wood fired oven like this http://www.fogaoalenha.com.br/fogaoa...enha_minas.php

the main cooking area:

a little further back showing all the key features from top to bottom include: speakers for your listening enjoyment, twin fans for climate control, stone counter tops for all around indestructiblility, wooden table on wheels for mobility, LBGE for baking (center), LBGE for smoking (off to right), 22.5 Kettle for pretty much everything, smoky Joe (tucked into the brick enclosure) for pretty much everything else, hammock for laying. Not shown, one mini BGE because it's for all practical purposes useless, and one Rhododendron that is always watered

Edit: One more for good measure, showing some more toys, the Bayou Classic outdoor Patio Stove, Omaz Tomato Crusher, All American Pressure Canner & Coleman camping stove:

Just finished my backyard bbq over the weekend

Before: rotting deck, pond in disrepair. Previous homeowner was not fond of matenience.

Hired a guy to pour the concrete patio, and another guy to do the patio cover. Redug and re-rocked the pond myself.

Started on the build:

Did all the work to the myself. A little over two months. Still have to hang the tv. Fridge is already stocked with beer

Thanx guys! It was a lot of work but if I can do it, anyone can. Hardest part was the concrete counters. I crushed up beer bottles and imbedded the glass inside it so it looks pretty cool. I'll be scouring this site for recipes, techniques and pointers.

Just out of curiosity, is there a story behind the name "Dchambers25"?
