This is SWAI, it is a product from Vietnam. Not big on buying something from there but wanted to try it and the price was right.

Smoked Fillet over in Fish Throwdown.

You cook it just like Catfish, definitely a forgiving piece of Fish. It really maintains it's moisture. Both the wife and myself liked the Smoked version best but fried was not bad either.

I've never heard of them.....what do they resemble? You did a perfect job on those fillets, I like a corn meal coating, not too heavy, just like you did them.

Thanks! Not too Fishy, texture is pretty close to that of a Catfish, but really very moist. The Smoked ones really stand out, seems they take smoke pretty well. On the Egg with Mesquite for about 12 minutes or so at 375º, had a nice smoke flavor that really set them off.

I will try these again. Albertsons just started carrying these, they are also called Basa Swai.
