This is a copy of the email that I sent Jori, What Do you all think?
Dear Jori, This email is in response to my concerns with the distance to reach the electrical service. It appears that I would need somewhere around 300 – 350 ft of extension cord to reach the provided generator from my assigned spot. This distance will not work nor is it safe and is potentially a fire hazard. I have to purchase at a great cost sufficient electrical cords to reach that distance and adapters. There could be extensive damage to my RV trailer electrical system and to the cords I must purchase if I hook up at that distance. I have asked other BBQ teams and spoke with an electrician about the distance and was told it would be a tremendous hazard. Up to 50 feet is normal with 100 feet being the extreme limit. I feel that asking BBQ teams to run distances past 100 ft is unsafe and unfair. I am asking that this be worked out so that the BBQ teams won’t need to run more than 100 ft to connect to the electrical service. This has been the standard for the American Royal, The Great American BBQ and Oklahoma Joe’s and a few other contests we have attended. We would appreciate your help with this and look forward to a quick response. Chick’n Pig BBQ Skip Thurman 449-1997 (home) 881-2467 (cell)

I just got this reply from Jori, looks like all of the concerns we had about the electric are gone!
__________________________________________________ ____________ Thank you for your concerns with the electrical. Every space will have its own dedicated electrical source. You will need to provide drop cords from that source but will probably not need more that 20-30 feet. Sorry for any confusion.

Well the boys are down and setting up....looks like rain could move in at anytime....I hope it holds off for them....
Good luck to all cooking....I'm stuck at work this weekend....one fo the few I HAVE to work throughout the year....what sucks is probably late tonight and close Sat. and Sunday, so I probably won't even drive down to where all are cooking....with 30,000 people expected, it just isn't appealing.......

Kick tells me that Pellet Envy was Grand and Four Men and a Pig was reserve and that several Brethren walked. Can't recall all of 'em.

From what I've heard, because I was stuck at work, the contest came off with pretty good success.
Belly Brothers were 15th overall...

Congrats to all that placed in this contest. Sounds like it turned out to be a good contest considering it was the first year and looked questionable for a while.

Of course this is easy for me to say now, but after we finished turn-ins, we agreed that this was a really well run first year event. Of course, they had a few hick-ups. We didn't see trash pick up until Saturday morning and we never saw a grease dump. Overall though, those things are very minor considering the size and type of event this was. We agreed we'd be back next year long before the awards ceremony. Those of you that were scared of this one really missed out on a well run first year event.
Congrats to everyone who heard their names. Big congrats to Skip on the rib win! Rod
