Hi everyone new guy here just thought id introduce myself. Heres a little of my work. This week I attempted to cook a pork shoulder without a crutch to help through the stall for the first time. Also used a new rub that I made myself because I didnt realize until I had the pork naked on the counter I was out of my store bought pork rub. 18hrs later the family and I were rewarded with pork heaven.

Welcome to the forum and you have a great looking butt there! You will find many more ways to do butts here but yours looks very good.
 
Matthew, Welcome to the site! Great looking pork butt there, nice bark and smoke ring. I am sure everyone was happy with that.

Welcome Matthew and that is one fine juicy butt you have there. Over the years I have changed how I do mine, I really like to foil them in the pan now. The steam makes it incredibly tender. Just so you know...you are going to love this place!
 
Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!!! And yes Andy I dont think I will be wrapping my butts anymore. This is just way too good and well worth the wait. Although with the pandemic taking me out of work and away from coaching on the little league diamond I have all the time in the world so we'll have to see if I have the resolve for this once things get back to normal haha.
