Love the tip! Where did youget it? Was it pre-threaded?

Thanks. I picked up a piece of 2 in threaded pipe for the big hole on the drum. The chrome tip has 2 set screws on the side. Just slid it over and tightened them.

Default Lid problem solved....

Been having a hard time finding the time to work on my UDS.Been fighting health problems with my wife. Anyway I've been on the hunt for a weber lid for my UDS and have struck out. A friend at work suggested searching freecycle.com so, I signed up Tuesday with a local chapter, posted what I was looking for. Today I get home and got two e-mails from people wanting to GIVE me their Weber kettles!! I suggest that anyone looking for or wanting to give away something sign up on their local freecycle group. I was looking for weeks for a lid and in two days I got two of them. Build Pics and first smoke pics will follow.

Well I somewhat finished the 2nd and last UDS! My sister made fun of my paint job, but that is par for the course!

Off to put it up for sale on Craigs List! Hey maybe I should donate it to a company and see if they would be my sponser! Yeah..lot of tie in w/Duracell and BBQ!

Great looking thing you got there. Congrats. I've heard that cooking for them once or twice might be enough.

Hey Bently i noticed you were hiding it from the neighbors behind the sheet. Is it out of embarassment or worried they will jack it?

Norco it's slightly hidded because there may be a neighbouring blond housewife thinking he's making some sort of jumbo bomb.

For my next build I'm thinking a single 1.1/2 '' ball on the bottom and a 2'' opening on the top. Am I doing too much?

I am more worried you are going to find the listing on Craigs List and share it here and then I will be really embarased! If he does Brothers, remember ..."Sell the sizzle, not the Steak..." LOL

Just curious if anyone has sold any UDS's on craigslist? I've gotten a few inquiries but no firm obligations. I am donating one as a door prize at a BBQ class and doing a cooking demo on it. They were showstoppers at the comps I cooked at and everyone had to stop and talk to me about them. I'd probably starve if I were a salesman!
