Going Vertical on the Slugger - Brisket Cook (pron)

After reading PBC thread and vertical appreciation thread decided to give it a try on the Slugger. Pleased with the results. Here's brisket cook from yesterday. Used oak splits.

Nice cook! Did you go wood or charcoal? Any difference in the slugger hanging vs grates?

All wood, except for chimney starter of charcoal to get the cook going. Hanging seemed to provide a more even bark and do a better job of protecting the end of the flat. Of course, could be placebo effect, need more practice to be sure:)
