I'm sure there is a big thread for this but I'm new and haven't dug deep. This recent onslaught of weather has killed my ability to bbq. I was contacted lately to do the cooking for a wing eating contest and that they were willing to help try to insulate my stock char griller. After reading a few website and calling a few companies I decided on a blanket for insulating. I bought an 8 by 8 welders blanket from harbor freight and then took measurements of the smoker I layered the blanket 5 times then used foil tape to close the edges. I then made the measurements for the chimney, handle, and gauge. I also made a side panel for the side closer to the chimney.worked wonderfully I was standing in 21°F with snow coming down smoking at 245.Happy smoking
