$80 hot dog
http://articles.boston.com/2011-07-2...uffle-ballpark
I think I'd rather have Ron L's even if someone else paid for it...

That's the stupidest idea I think I have ever heard before. They just took a hot dog and added pricey crap to it, probably still nowhere near worth $80 though. Doesn't even sound remotely interesting to me to be quite honest. Now, if it were SPAM...

Come on.... don't rub it in. I love to go to baseball games but they have gotten so stinkin' expensive. Now you've got some yahoos that want to set the record for the most expensive hot dog at a baseball game. Get friggin' real, idiots!

There are things there I like, there are things there I dislike, but, I dislike all of them together. Now, a real trick, sell a normal hot dog for $80 to at least one fan.

There's only one way that would ever be $80, and that would be to have it served in a way that is most likely illegal. And neither of those dudes would be involved.
BTW I've heard a lot of "truffle oil" is really some kinda petroleum product and has nothing really to do with truffles, as real truffles are super farking expensive. I have no idea if it's actually true - just something I've heard and wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be the case.

I'd pay it for a fattie.
The 1/4 pound all beef dog at Costco costs 1.52 and it comes with a soda with free refills.

I thought that this was a joke when I first saw the thread. Then I realized that the joke was that these two scam artists think that any hot dog could possibly be worth that much money. I sure hope that they are including a bottle of vaseline with that dog, because anyone that buys that thing is definitely going to need it.

This is a moderately clever gimmick, but I wouldn't buy it. I don't like caviar. For my $80, I'll by two dinners at Texas-de-Brazil. All the steak, chicken and sausage you can eat x2. Oh by the way, someone might play a baseball game during this stunt.
