First Brisket *Pron*
My first Brisket, is this a good price? First time I've seen at the supermarket. Bought then put in the freezer, thawed on Friday
Rubbed and injected The sweet blue (cherry and oak) Fatty apettizer while we wait, cheddar, provolone & green pepper, sample rub from Fred's BBQ & Music, pretty good The brisket Cooked a lot faster than I thought it would, 6.87# at 225 - 250 for 7 hours, internal at 200, and probe went in like butter. Not bad but I've had better.

Looks like you did a good job. Brisket is tough to get perfect. Fatty looks tasty. As far as price goes looks like brethren pay anywhere from $1.20-5.99/lbs depending on where you live. Most super markets in my area are 3.99-5.99/lbs. The Wal-Mart super center always has full packers for 1.89/lbs.

When you say not bad, you've had better what do you mean exactly. That brisket really looks great in the pron.
Looks expensive to me even here in Vermont.

Fatty was great, lasted about 5 minutes. The brisket was a little dry, but not overly so.
I can get pork butt at 98 cents a pound, never seen beef that low here though. Stacy is about a half hour north of the cities, I actually live in Linwood Township, about 6 miles west of the freeway, and right next to the Isanti County line.

Brought some of it in to work today and they said they really liked it, so maybe I didn't do as bad as I thought (or they were just being nice )

I'm betting they really liked it. We are all our worst critics.
Every time I tell The Missus or guests "This didn't come out quite how I wanted it" they always reply "This is really good! What's the problem?" And, The Missus ain't really known for unneccessary kindness to me....
