If you mean mine, thank you!

I forgot to take a picture of it but my heat diffuser is the center I cut out of the lid. I drilled a bunch of holes in it.

BTW I highly recommend the auberins system. I can set it and go to bed no problems.

And the box I have it in is an old Army ammo box, which has a rubber seal and keeps it water proof. There are some breathing holes drilled in the bottom of it but water won't make it up that way.

I have a question...some UDS Ive seen they have used the bottom part of the weber grill. Why not just use the lid? Am I missing somethinghere? Thanks

These drums are a lot of different sizes. And so are the various grill lids. Sometimes the bottom fits just fine (Better than the top) without having to do any special fabrication.

Thanks I never really thought about it. I am in the process now of burning my barrel out and will try the bottom as opposed to the lid to see what fits best.

Default Scored!

Im gathering all my parts I need for my drum build right now and I was cruising craigslist the other day and found a weber 22.5" kettle for $35 that was in great shape! Needless to say I went and picked it up to use it for parts on my build. Im trying to get the time to get this thing built so I can use it a couple times before turkey day, I wanna smoke a bird. I just need to burn the outside of my barrell and get to building.

That is awesome. I was thinking of adding an access door to my UDS so I can add wood to the fire basket. Is your door air tight? Any tips????

With a UDS, you should never need to add wood to the fire basket unless you are going to do cooks longer than twenty hours.
