I've got my Maverick probes siliconed and shrink wrapped, and a GFCI box for the transmitter. So both end will not see water. We are expecting a little rain, do I need to worry about the wires at all? Thanks.

Biggest worry is where the wires go into the probe. Don't want water there. They will be in the smoker so your good. Sounds like you have it covered keeping the transmitter dry.

Sounds like you are in good shape! I have let my transmitter hang on the UDS handle in a heavy rainstorm without any protection at all. Still works fine.

Thanks folks. I'll get some update pics after I get my 18.5 WSM score up and running after midnight.

The maverick is supposed to be rain proof. I have had mine in the rain and it's still running. Nevertheless, when I know it's going to rain, I'll stuff it in a zip lock bag.

I think your good on both ends of the probes. Unless it's rannin hammerhandles and pitchforks the transmitter should be good too.
