Hi all
Finished my UDS, finally! Going to do some ribs very soon to start things off, before I look at pulled pork etc etc.

I have basic rub:
1/2 cup Brown sugar (sifted) For Brisket reduce to 1/4 cup
2 Tbsp Hickory salt
1 Tbsp Celery salt
2 Tbsp Accent
2 Tbsp Onion powder
2 Tbsp Garlic powder
1 Tbsp Chili powder
1 Tbsp Paprika
1 Tbsp Black Pepper

And will spritz, glaze towards the end.

However, I came across a post on here that seemed to rave about Oakridge BBQ rubs (there will be others I am sure, and its all personal preference), but I managed to source it in the UK....however, as I have found whilst building my UDS, everything is 3 times more expensive as the US. So the Secret Weapon rub as a 16oz pouch converted your money is $27......without delivery.

Now do I stick to home made rub or is it worth buying?
Advice welcome! And sorry for the kinda long winded post.... :-D

I think it's worth trying some American imports :becky: I was surprised by the flavour of the ones I've tried. They've been pretty different to any rub recipes I've found online and I plan on trying Oakridge stuff soon. Also the 16oz will last a good while!

Mike from Oak Ridge makes some top notch rubs.

Yes there are many others that are really good to the list is long.
But I promise you won't be let down with any of the Oak Ridge products
