Habanero Chili
So, as it gets a bit cooler, I realized it was time to clean out the fridge and make some chili. First, I need to thank Wampus for the awesome chili spice recipe in his brisket chili!
Here are the spices and veggies before it got going. Browned up some ground beef and what should have been a fatty that needed to be used up with some garlic, and tossed it all in a pot. The kicker to this is that after a few hours of bubbling away, I took about a pound of leftover brisket and a pound of leftover pulled pork and stirred it in for another hour or so. Finished I had seeded and de-veined that habanero before chopping it up very finely and I have to say, it gave a great amount of heat to the chili. Not spicy really by any stretch, but it will definitely leave your mouth warm for an hour or two. Sorry about the lack of photos while cooking, Ill make sure to get more next time! Hitman |
