BBQ association for missouri
With the KCBS having gone national I would like to see what if any interest there is in forming a Missouri or Midwest BBQ society. Most of the states around missouri have they're own groups that pertain to they're particular area. the original kcbs did that for the kansas city area and the midwest. Now there seems to be more concern for national issues as opposed to local. Seems that the time is right to form an organization that strictly deals with Local issues and regional concerns. This would include charitable issues as well as all things BBQ. This is not to replace or compete with the kcbs but to fill the gaps that have been left with the NEW kcbs. Your comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

I have felt for some time you MOFO's were getting the short end of the stick when it came to KCBS representing you on a local level. They can no longer fulfill that need as they have taken on a national view to their organization. Their is nothing wrong with KCBS going in that direction as that is growth. But a local organization looking out for the needs and wants of the local bbq community is just as important.
Perhaps the St Louis Society could grow to meet those needs. Who knows but good luck.

Come join the Illinois BBQ Society.

It can be very rewarding to be a part of a localized BBQ organization

How about BBQ Brethren - MOFO Chapter. There are enough of us MOFOs that see each other on the regional competition circuit it already feels like a club to me. What would a "society" do? I ask that as an honest and sincere question.

I guess I was asking what we would be doing different than KCBS and how formal it would be. I see alot of people on here already help host and support KCBS sanctioned charity events (Paws and Claws, Pleasant Hill, etc). If it is more social and informal a "chapter" might work, If it is more formal with by-laws, etc then a "chapter" probably wouldn't work.
