Hello, i know superior smokers is no longer in business it seems.I was wondering if maybe you could tell me since this is an older unit, did it have some of the same issues the older assassin's had before they redesigned them a few years ago? I can't off the top of my head mention those issues, because i don't remember, i just remember it had a few problems..And retail on ss2 was about 2300ish right?(in trading forum under superior smokers, they had a sale for 2300 i think) Which current assassin is the SS2 most comparable to?

I have an SS-1 and was told it was a first year model. I have owned now about 4 years and no issues to speak of other than a hot spot on the bottom shelf in the rear when the stoker is blowing. Not often I fill the beast up have to use the bottom shelf.

Yes someone is offering me one, but price seems high, based on retail rate. And a new assassin 24 is 3100..

All i know is that some had bridging issues before they started making tapered chutes. Using charcoal instead of lump should help.
