I have browsed this site for a month or so and wanted to get in on the conversations. I grew up watching my dad BBQ everything over an open wood-fire pit but for the past 4 years I have moved to building some pits and am more than addicted. I fired up my pits 25 times this winter *in MN we had I think 40 days in a row below zero, worst was the -45 windchill day but I did ribs just to say I could and still turned out great!* I'm a big fan of Texas BBQ and like the style but also dabble into the other regions- I own/raise cattle and work with hogs for my day job so I get plenty of options when it comes to meat!! Built my first UDS last fall and love it, used some homemade stick burners previouly that worked ok but passed them along to other enthusiasts in my area so I can make new ones. Weber on the deck and my wife is the side/appetizer guru so we eat great year round!! Great site and information on here, excited to be a part of this thanks!!
