getting ready to put a pork roast on the smoker this is only my second time,do i need to remove the basket weave wrap from it,also it has a pop up timer in it,do i still need to add my meat thermometer
 
I never have, I'm guessing its a smaller one.... I would also imagine if you did it might fall apart.

The popup is also probably set to pop at 165 or higher, which would lead to a dry roast.
 
leave the weave....like the rhymes there.........but, ignore the pop up and use your own....agree there, I dont pay attention to pop up on turkey either...
 
well what's a good temp don't want it dry 158-160 area???
 
I say pull it at 145 and let it rest for 15 minutes. 150 max. My .02
