Effective immediately I am resigning my position as Throwdown Moderator. I am sorry to do this to the loyal TD fans and especially to Moose, but recent posts questioning my integrity and accusing me (veiled or not) of using my TD Moderator position to cheat in the TDs have brought me to this decision.
Since I VOLUNTEERED to help out with the TDs I have been accused of “sucking the fun out of the TDs” and called quite a few choice names after Moose and I enforced the published TD rules. In addition, a while back we were asked to also enforce the “special rules” that are chosen by the winner of the previous TD as part of the perk of choosing the next category. Moose and I enforcing those “special rules” that you all think up has also led to me being called more choice names. In addition, as a Forum Moderator I have been called even more names, threatened and just about everything that you can think of. BUT… NEVER in my life has my integrity been questioned and NEVER have I been accused of cheating. Since I VOLUNTEERED to help Moose, I am now unvolunteering. There is enough drama in real life and I don’t need that kind of bullchit on top of it. As part of this I will also be withdrawing my entries in the currently open TDs (Bacon and Noobs vs. Vets) to avoid further accusations or speculation if I were to be lucky enough to win (and I am NOT saying that I would win. That's up to those of you who vote in the TDs).
Before I go, I do have something to say about these accusations. EVERY decision made during my time as a TD moderator has been a team decision and was done in conjunction with Moose and Bigabyte (when he was acting as a TD moderator). NO ACTION was taken unless we agreed. Yet I am being singled out for these decisions and it is my character that is being questioned. I can assure all of you that at no time did I think about my participation in a TD when considering enforcing a published TD rule or one of your “special rules”. The recommendations that I gave to Moose and Chris have always been impartial. The fact that anyone thinks otherwise hurts me deeply.
Have fun with the Throwdowns! That’s why JD McGee created them back in 2008.
