Default Weber Potato Nails - Irony

I just saw the Weber Potato Nails on the Weber website. I kind of got a laugh out of that one. My dad used to always put nails in potatoes to cook the middle better and then wrap them in foil and throw them in the fire. I guess redneck cooking is going main stream.

That looks safe to eat? Anyone want some a side of chemicals on their potato?

Stainless steel is a rather poor heat conductor. Aluminum spikes are much better.

My Mom used aluminum skewers when she did baked potatoes. I think she still has them.

Lately I've been into par boiling small red or white potatoes 10 minutes and then tossing them cut in half on the grill to finish them and get some nice browning and grill marks. Think I'll pass on the nails.

I'm gonna try it.

It's all about potato bombs now. No room for nails.

My ex used aluminum baking nails in potatos.
I've never really seen a need for them.
