No, the barrel was used as a rain collector and the bottom had rotten out. The oak was great though. I don't think I would notice any wine flavor of aroma like I do with the Jack Daniels Chips. They smell like Bourbon for sure!

Your right Bob, It was very rich indeed. I ate the first rib in the picture plain with a touch of salt. The slab is now wrapped in the fridge until Thursday night we are having company from England. Looking to make an Asian bbq sauce.

I bet the wine barrel made some nice smoke. I'd like to hear how it compared to other woods.
