Default Sam's Club pricing

Does anyone know when Sam's change their prices on meat?

I was there Saturday evening and their butts were $1.58lb. Bought 4 of them and wanted to get more. Even when I got home kept thinking I need to go back to get more.

Didn't know if there was a certain day of the week or just when they wanted to change them

Our Sams seems to have very consitent pricing with very little change in the prices.

I would assume the prices go up when they place an order and their costs have increased, whether it be the product or the delivery fees. The reflected change in price would take effect when the new labels are printed when the meat case is restocked.

I assume that is why only one or two items are in the meat case and you have to ask for more to be brought out.

Bought some this weekend and the price was 1.78/lb. I was expecting 1.58 as that is what it has been in the past. Same packaging as what I had got before.

All wholesale clubs have case prices, Sam's, BJ's, Costco, and Restaurant Depot.

While Restaurant Depot is an automatic price adjustment at the register, at the other three clubs, you just have to ask an attendant in the meat department to get you a full case and mark it accordingly. They are more than happy to assist you.

I looked at Sam's today in Arlington, TX (DFW area). Their USDA choice briskets were $2.28/lb which I thought was high. At Wal-Mart the SWIFT brand briskets are $1.77/lb.

Baby Backs were $3.28/lb which are also more than HEB, Kroger, or Wal-Mart ($2.99)

A 2-pack of Boston Butts at Sam's was $1.58/lb.

At both Sam's I frequent, there's a big whiteboard sign hanging above the main case in front of the processing area that tells the case prices.....just look up ^^^^ away from the meat for a moment.....

Just remember to compare apples to apples. Most walmart pork and poultry is enhanced, while their briskets are the same quality as anywhere else.

It's not a fair comparison to talk about walmart pork compared to natural pork. I have to admit that I've had great results using walmart picnic roasts which are enhanced with up to a 8% solution. For $1.34/lb, I'll continue to buy and enjoy them. But for other pork and poultry, like ribs, chicken, turkey, I'll stick to natural products from other sources. The HEBs around here always have great looking ribs, but they aren't cheap @ $2.99/lb for st louis cut, $2.28/lb for full spares, and $3.99 for loin backs.
