Default gateway drums?

I was contemplating another drum only this time buying instead of building and have been interested in a gateway. The problem I see is that it doesn't seem to be advertised as low temp (240ish) cooking. For anyone who has them, will they easily cook that low or are they just 300+ cookers? I would like a 50gal

Don' t see why it wouldn't cook 250* ...like any drum it's just intake and exhaust plus how many lit coals and fire setup.

Get the deflector plate with it to run lower temps. They will run 250 if you want, just choke it down as mentioned.

We just view "Hot & Fast" as a benefit, and most guys use them that way, but it doesn't mean you have to!

I've had a Gateway for just a few weeks now. I normally cook hot on it but it can easily cook low and slow.

Incredible performance and Tim and Terri are good folks. Even though you want lower temps, who knows you may like cooking at 300 degrees!
