Default Marvelous Synchro Butts

Three of them for a pre-cook total weight of about 26 lbs were smoked for my daughter's synchronized swimming team end of the season potluck. Each were coated lightly with mustard then given a good dose of Simply Marvelous ; either Spicy Apple, Cherry or Pecan, used a different rub on each butt.

Into the Assassin 48 with Royal Oak briqs and plenty of apple wood chunks setup in a long maze and using the v-pan. Cooked for about 8 hours at 275ish, then wrapped in BP to finish off, rested for 2-3 hours then pulled.

Served re-heated the next day at the potluck with homemade bbq sauce and SM Popitude finishing rub. Wow, those girls can eat, there was nothing left!

I have recently begun trying SM products and I think the Pecan rub is a very good all-purpose rub. I enjoy it more than the SM Cherry.

That looks fantastic. I love doing cooks like that, with just a few variables to let you see which you like best.

And to your point, our almost-11 grand daughter will eat more protein that my girlfriend and I, combined.

The John Henry Pecan is good too, a little sweeter and salty than the SM, but it has been a while since I used the JH, not as easy to find around here as it used to be.

Thanks all!

Always rewarding when it’s devoured and you’re asked to do it again!
