Any suggestions for some cheap bbq style appetizers for a wedding. We do a little catering and have had this request.

Thanks.

Bacon wrapped meatballs on toothpicks. 1/3 strip bacon, wrap meatball, toothpick thru center to hold bacon, smoke for an hour, finish on hot grill (optional, to crisp bacon)

Dunk balls in your favorite bbq sauce and serve.

Fantastic!

Boneless "wings". Boneless, skinless thighs cut into small pieces and grilled/smoked however you like. Serve like the meatballs above with your favorite wing sauces. You could do any cut of chicken really but the thighs will be cheaper and probably hold heat longer.

Appetizers are not cheap when you start looking at the labor and amounts guests eat. If you ever have a client call you up wanting just appetizers because they don't want to spend the extra money for a meal you will find it should cost them double what a meal cost. That said, what will the entree be? If the entree is pork you could do mini brisket taco's, pig candy or something like that. Here's a pic of some pulled pork sundae shots we've done for weddings. These are in 1oz shot glasses and it's a layer of baked beans, pulled pork, cole slaw with a dusting of rub and a peach wedge with a wooden paddle for getting it out of the shot glass. They are disposable so guests can eat and throw away. Requires several people assembling in mass to pull these off.
