Pit Barrel Chicken?

How long (about) will it take to cook two large chickens on a Pit Barrel Cooker?
The chickens are split in half’s and will be hanging?

I would guess around 90 minutes

90 min to 1:45. I usually crack the lid at the end to help the skin. How long it’s cracked largely determines how quick it finishes.

There are some big birds at my local Kroger, and the last two I cooked were six pounds each whole before I cut them into halves. They took just over two hours. I use a Thermopen, but you can always tell when the skin around the legs starts to pull back.

Definitely crack the lid at the end to crisp up the skin.
