Default Pork belly and a steak on the KBQ

Made a belly for tomorrow’s Easter brunch. Decided to KBQ it since it was a nice day finally and I’m batchin it today

Took it to 180 before wrapping for the last hour

It was around dinner time so I tossed a SRF hanger steak in with the belly and then seared it on top to finish

Steak turned out great KBQ performed perfectly

Thanks suds I slept on one that came up on CL awhile ago and kicked myself so when this one came up last summer I jumped on it.

Yep my first foray into pellet grills - just a really big pellet and have to feed it manually

The KBQ comes with the searing grate, first time I’ve used it and it worked perfectly although it’s a little small.

Hangar steak looked great! Think that may be my next cut to try.

Thanks! I sliced it about 1/4 inch and seared it on a screaming hot griddle - best way to describe it is like fried butter

It really was - with the KBQ you have to add a split about every 30-45 mins so I just hung out there all day with the dog

My local grocer carries individually packaged SRF steaks - I usually get the sirloin but opted for the hanger this time

Thanks Kev - I got a good deal on the KBQ and couldn’t pass it up.

Yesterday I saw a Mak 3 star on CL for $4500 but that’s a little rich for my blood
