I guess we will just have to see how this weather shakes out... 6+ hour drive from Oklahoma through this stuff?!? I may be doing a practice cook at home....

Still planning on going... but will have to see what happens with the ice and snow.

If you do get that much snow will they plow that lot? Jamey??
Right now it does not look warm enough to melt anything before friday.

I'd be surprised if the highway isn't clear by Friday morning. But, setup at the fairgrounds might not be fun. Who's in for a snow ball fight and snowman contest?

Im thinking the highways willl be fine by mid morning Friday, so I'll plan to be on the roads after lunch with a mid afternoon arrival. As far as the lot, I may not leave the trailer......

I talked to the Gal at the fair grounds. The county road dept does their lots, and they are suposed to be there early to clear them off if necessary.
We'll also have a Bobcat and tractor on site.

Normally I-70 gets cleared off quick. It also gets lots of traffic to help clear it.

The site at the fairgrounds will be clear for your arrival. We have a skid loader and my husband and I will work all night Thursday if we have to, to clear the lot for all of you. We had 18 inches of snow the first year we did this and we cleared the lot and all the teams were able to get in. 8 inches of snow doesn't scare us.....just bring your sleds so we can go for a ride on them after a few beers of course. :-) We are a go....

The worst should be this afternoon.

Funny, this storm is called winter storm "Q". Good omen.

Right now thunder and freezing rain, but I'm a couple hours south of Columbia. We are in the area of freezing rain and Columbia is in the snow band.
