Been trying to think of something to enter in the veggie showdown, so I settled on a margherita pizza.

The first part of the process was to make a homemade marinara sauce. Which is roma tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil, and oregano on the Akorn at 375 for 1 1/2 hours

then pureed with a hand blender

The marinara is now ready to go. Opened up the vents on the Akorn to get it nice and hot and prepared the pizza

Turned out very nice. Could have left it on for a few seconds longer and put to much sauce on the pizza but the flavor was awesome

Very nice, and very authentic ingredients. :thumb:

It is a little be "wet," but I'm sure it tasted great, and that is most important. Maybe try straining the roasted tomatoes before you puree them, next time. Get some of that water out.

Nice job.

I did strain them before roasting, I should have noted that. But yes the pizza was wet, definitely over sauced it
