Default First cook after mods and new pit

I got my ProQ Frontier in the mail on Friday although the stacker is still on the way.

The smoker has some interesting features. The section snap together with toggle clasps that make moving it as a unit a little easier and the water pan was easily twice the depth of my current smoler. I was able to get up to temp fast abd hold temps until I needed to add charcoal. Once a added the new chimney of charcoal I couldn't seem to get back up to temp. It seemed to stick at 210.

The other cooker is my FrankenSmoker made from some cheapo smokers from Princess Auto.

Adding the extra lid to the bottom ala bullet smoker was just the ticket. Got up to temp fast and it stayed steady at 250-260 all day. It recovered fast from being refilled with charcoal and I even discovered an intake I over looked. The thermometer in the upside-lid-now-base twists out to reveal a two inch hole. Pop it out to get up to temp and pop it back in to maintain temp. Perfect.

I'm anxious to know how the ProQ works out for you. I'm seriously considering ordering the Excel.
