Heck we'd probably look to join it. I'm pretty sure Brian "Smokin' Turkey" would be in. BBQBandit is close too. Depending on when i am sure you'd get a good pull.

Been pondering that exact same notion... if there is any interest.
Please note: the following is not written in stone... Only random thoughts. Make it as centrally located to all Bashers.... A: Location... smack-dab in the middle of Pennsylvania.... just off route 80. B: KOA Campground: Bellefonte (Penn State's backyard - approx 12 miles between) http://www.bellefontekoa.com/where/p.../president.htm C: Time... NOT DURING Penn State home football games (Any travelings during those [every other] weekend is absolutely brain-numbing and not encouraged.) D. The place can handle many sizes pending any level of interests. Spoke with the folks at Bellefonte recently... there are some weekends already sold out in advance. (Memorial Day, First half of July, Penn State Graduation, Labor Day). Location is closed presently until April first for the Winter (according to the pre-recorded voice message.) Let the discussions commence.

It is NOT my fault... it was your idea... just threw a log on the fire to spark any interest.

To accommodate the best options... will not try to conflict with contests in the immediate states (OH/MD/NJ/NY/PA).
2010 Contests (as of 11/23/09) 4/16-17 Pork in the Park (Salisbury, MD) 5/9 Mother's Day 5/14-15 Smoke in the Valley (Green Lane, PA) 5/15-16 Pretty Good BBQ (Dayton, OH) 5/29-30 Rock City Ribfest (Rochester, NY) 6/4-5 Brick Street BBQ (Marietta, OH) 6/26-27 Safeway BBQ (Washington, DC) 7/2-3 I Love BBQ (Lake Placid, NY) 7/23-24 Harpoon (Windsor, VT) 8/20-21 Hudson Vally Ribfest (New Paltz, NY) 8/27-28 New Holland Summerfest (New Holland, PA) 9/24-25 Que by the Sea (Seaside Heights, NJ) Probably rule out all of October (Keystone Classic, American Royal, the Jack, and the Battle of the BBQ Brethren). Any feedback would be helpful

That's great that everyone is interest in getting in on a PA bash! I'm actually finalizing my event submission to the Raystown Lake here in Huntingdon, PA for Sept 17-19. Planned so far is grilling (possibly striped bass) a $1 rib people's choice, KCBS with 8-10k in prize money, popular bands, car/motorcycle show.
Right now I have some help here in the area getting it going but I could always use more help setting it up. Also I need compeditors which I had already 10 interested in coming! Im looking to get 20 and make the ultimate cutoff this year 30 teams. This is my first go at arranging but I've been to enough of these things this year that I know I can do a good one. I know what works and what doesnt. I have the ear of Eric and "the Giggler" (mike) for comp arrangement help. Here is a link to a map of the area. I am looking at 3 sites but have pretty much settled into one. Its at the army corp or engineers lake, they have campsites available and a 26 mile long lake. Historic Huntingdon is within a few minutes drive stocked with small shops, restaurants, hotels, and of course, a walmart. The view from the site is amazing and the placement of the bands should really be sweet with everyone able to see and hear them for the most part. What say you?

Huntingdon is still a great place to hold a brethren bash. We do have plenty of inexpensive campgrounds (raystown has a group camp area) and we arent far from i-80 and us-22 and i-99. Just throwing it out there. I'll travel also but just thinking cool venues.
