Hi guys,
I am gonna have another attempt at building a UDS but can't lay my hands on any food grade drums. I can get one that used to contain motor oil. Is this safe to use as a smoker? What is the best way of cleaning it out?

I made mine from a hydraulic oil drum. Burn it out and get to cooking!

Mine was a motor oil drum, burn it out good and it will be fine.

No need to burn it out wash it out with simple green.

had industrial paint in mine....threw in a bunch of scrap wood and burned away!!! Just to be safe i probably burned for over 12 hours.....
