Default Free Food Grade Drums...

My source at the local "StockPot" soup plant informed me that they are getting rid of all their 55 gallon drums ASAP. They are moving toward tanker deliveries instead. If any Brethren in the Pacific Northwest would like a drum or two send me a PM. I'll be going there this Sunday and load up a few for myself. They are all enclosed, un-lined drums that contained olive or vegetable oil.

We should do an experiment and show how brothers help other brothers out.
Who in Florida wants a food grade drum? We could have this thread show it's progression across the US just by having one brother take it to another brother and so on and so forth. Not neccessarily going out of their way but rather a "hey I am heading to wherever I could drop it off with whomever" type of thing and see how long it takes to get across country and how many brothers were involved in its transport.
Ok I have way to much time on my hands, going to my room.

"Stockpot" wouldn't happen to have a plant in the DFW area would they? I'd contact them and get a few, if so. That would get some started from the middle of the country.

How about other areas of the country, or is this company just located on the left coast?

For those of you looking for food grade drums I recommend calling your local supermarkets, health food stores, or do a DEX Online search for food manufacturing (how I found StockPot). Good Luck!

Finally made it over to StockPot this afternoon after work to see what the free drum situation was like. The future is very bleak my fellow drumheads...very bleak indeed. I was informed today by my source (warehouse manager who shall not be named) that they will be installing a new machine to "crush" all the used drums... Imagine all those future smokers reduced to the size of a 22 1/2 inch frisbee...so I rescued 3 more! Just doin' my part to further the cause!

These are the good ones...the Weber lids fit perfect!
