...as chosen by Dr. Funkenstein, who has apparently noticed that there was no new Throwdown topic for this week.

Here is how Dr. Funkenstein sees this one going down.

Entry pictures must be submitted by Midnight Central US Time on Sunday night 2/5.

By submitting entry photos to this Throwdown thread you are agreeing that you have read and understand the Throwdown Rules.

The voting will begin Monday 2/6 after the "Vote" thread is submitted and will run through Sunday 2/12. All votes will be public.

Don't forget, you can still enter the "Street Food" Throwdown until Monday night 1/30 by midnight Central time.

Our next category will be decided by the winner of the "Saucy" Throwdown!

This should be interesting... Many different ways to go with this.

Funky-

Having a moldy or musty smell. Fumunda cheese.
Having a strong, offensive, unwashed odor. Mongo on the weekends.
Of or relating to music that has an earthy quality reminiscent of the blues. See posts above.
Combining elements of jazz, blues, and soul and characterized by syncopated rhythm and a heavy, repetitive bass line. See above.
Earthy and uncomplicated. Eggplant or shrooms.
Characterized by originality and modishness. New dish from Bob Brisket.
Outlandishly vulgar or eccentric in a humorous or tongue-in-cheek manner. Colonel and Gore's wheelhouse.

Very perceptive analysis!

This one in particular stood out:

Earthy and uncomplicated. Eggplant or shrooms.

Perhaps some eggplant & mushroom nachos are in order! If that's not funky, I don't know what is...

I don't know, Personally I think cooking eggplant while on shrooms may be earthy but would be very complicated.
