According to Sara Wells they were first. I have just noticed them recently in the Comps. According to her KCBS rules say no duplicate name I do not see this as a duplicate She said that things had fallen through the cracks and no one noticed this until she began spring house cleaning

I see it as a duplicate also ( Back Porch BBQ or Q is the same thing IMO) and since you were not first (easy to see--go to their site and see who signed up first), you should just add 2 little letters to the end of your team name on the application (not banners, etc.) to honor KCBS's rules (which I think are fair in this case). Not a big deal to do that.

The Back Porch Q I know has been competing for 4 years or more here in IL. I think there is a local to me brethren that named their team Drew-B-Q, which of course could sound a lot like Brew-B-Q at awards, but I don't really care that much.

I've been competing for 6 seasons and registered my name with kcbs when i started. My scores on bbqbug used to get confused with yours. As far as kcbs goes things have been fine. I wouldn't think a name change would be necessary since they are different
