Default First post-op cook

Had knee surgery on Dec 5th, things are going well so it was time to do another cook. Has been to long since I've had time to fire up the stickburner.

Wanted ribs badly so that's what I was cooking. Did some onions, carrots and hasselbacks with a twist on the side. Ribs were rubbed with Oakridge comp beef/pork and HDD.

While I was running the smoker, the misses did a lephtover stew on the joy stove. Onion, garlic, carrots, lotsa red wine, paprika paste, pork shoulder and wild boar lephtovers.

About an hour into my cook, I started having stomach cramps, I continued the cook but didn't get to eat the food. :-( Misses said it was really good, my plate is waiting for me in the fridge.

Misses snacking some moinkballs.

Done! Potatoes were basted with garlic/herbs butter.

The stew smelled amazing.

One of our cats decided that the wood oven needed inspection.

Well, I had my ribs and moinkballs lephtover meal yesterday and they were really good. But I also had a taste of the stew and the misses hit out out of the ballpark. That's a hearthwarming dish!

You didn't lose any talent while down from the surgery. It looks like everything turned out great and that stew is fantastic comfort food, so no doubt it will make you feel better. Keep cooking, it's good therapy, and happy healing!
