Dang-Nation!!! I am trying to find a way to do this, especially now that there is "free beer" involved!!! And the team line up so far looks great! Like I said before getting old (for me anyways) is heck!!!!

This almost sounds like a class/party reunion!

Man! I knew I should have never replied to this from the start!!

Ok, here is a really good excuse: it is our 30 year anniversary!!!!

Sandy says she will kick my ass!

Besides, the free beer is losing its luster after last weekend. I think someone slipped me a Mickey Finn. I was still prepping meat at 1:30am!

If you didn't notice our score for chicken, well, we stunk to high heaven!

In all seriousness though, we appreciate the support and PEER PRESSURE!!!

This is exactly why I trim all my meat on Wednesday night at home!

And I must have missed the memo about the free beer.......which is probably a good thing. I'll just have to make some Orange Crushes instead!

The Peppermonkeys will be celebrating our 3 year anniversary at this comp... what could be more romantic than spending time together with no sleep or shower cooking BBQ?

I gotta get used to the new WSM we got as that is what we cooked our chicken on last weekend; not trying to make excuses, but I gotta get a handle on it. Last weekend was the first time I had ever even fired it up.

If it wasn't for that, and our anniversary, we would drive on down and hang out.

Best of luck to you guys!!!

Don I have it on good authority that WSMs can put out some pretty awesome chicken. At least that's what the rooster sitting on the picket fence in my living room told me anyway....

Oh man, you guys are KILLING me!!!! 1st place in chicken!!! Congrats!

So, that is what I will be doing this weekend!!! Learning that dog-gone WSM and chicken!!

If anyone wants some chicken thighs Sunday afternoon, stop by as I will have a boat-load. I just hope it sure is better than last weekend, or at least it better!! Otherwise, I might end up putting some chicken pizza in the box next comp.

Really though, I still cannot believe we got last place!! I thought it was pretty good chicken. Obviously, the judges didn't see it the same way.

Practice, practice, practice!!
