So I'm in the produce dept. today thinking about the Berry throw-down and out of the corner of my eye.... OMG Really?

I've never seen key lime's here. last time we did was on our honeymoon so I knew the wife would be stoked!!
So what should I do with these gems before the wife drinks them all?

Yeah, as Guerry said, the first thing I would do is to make a key lime pie about the size of a #2 washtub. Love that stuff. Honey-mustard-key lime sauce is really good with chicken and seafood, too. And all Mexican food is improved with a shot of key lime juice.

Either a BIG margarita, Mai-Tai or my favorite pie.

I think I'd be squeezing one into a tall glass of unsweetened iced tea.

And then making some nice, tart bruschetta.

mojito
-muddle mint and sugar in a glass
-add juice of one lime
-fill glass with ice then fill with rum
-shake vigorously
-splash of seltzer
Hemingway swore by them

Hmmm rum? pie? or Hooters girls!!!!!:eusa_clap
I may have to do more shoppping today

Im good with some lime in a gin and tonic.
The coronas and hooters girls are a fantastic option as well :thumb:

Come on man, pull the trigger and post the pics!! Those things are going mold on the counter soon!

I suggest Ginger Lime Shrimp

1 part lime juice
1/2 part low sodium soy sauce (or 1/3 part if using hte full strength stuff)
4-5 cloves garlic
2TBL fresh ginger grated
2-3 serrano peppers
1 lb shrimps (shell on)

Whiz everything together in a food processor and pour into 1 gallon ziploc bag. Add shrimp and marinate for 15-45 minutes, NO longer than 45 minutes or the lime juice will start to "cook" the shrimp and they'll also be too salty.

Place on skewers and cook over direct heat until shrimp are pink and shells are just starting to char. 1-2 minutes per side.

I will this evening, my daughter wants me to wait for her to make the pie.
I'm thinking pizza Margareta, pie and what ever rum drink wifey wants.
Although I do have shrimp in the freezer, hmmmmm

The juice is great in icing...so sugar cookies with key lime icing (local place does some of these and they are deadly!). Key Lime Pie is a given. Have fun. I grow my own! I think I have a few pints of frozen juice in the freezer.
