Side note: Not sure I should mention this, but the judges tent was set up directly behind our site. As it was empty all night and the structure was very sound blocking the high intensity winds of Hesperia, it made for a perfect sleep site for a couple of our crew. We were out before any of the Hesperia Recreation Department arrived in the morning to complete the set up for the judges.
Also, I want to place a special "shout out" to the guys from the Hesperia grounds crew for taking care of assuring we had water and electricity readily available. I also appreciated the short walk (actually only a couple of steps) it took to make our turnins.
