Default Double Red Head Restoration

I picked these up last week while on vacation. A 1969 Statesman and a 1995 MT. The thread is here http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=164272

I posting photos of the restoration to date. Tons of cleaning, ordering parts, a sweeper mod and some new wooden handles. Right now the kettles and tops are sparkly clean. There is rust, but oh well, Patina.......... I have 1 new grate and am awaiting the delivery truck tomorrow with more grates top and bottom, new ash catcher handle, sweeper kit, (2) complete leg sets and hopefully the handles some time next week. These boys were NEVER loved. Well they are now. Browse through the pics and see how happy these two legless Farkers are at the end. I will add to the post when this is completed.

Well here is the 95 MT all finished. New handles, leg set, sweeper assembly and some grates. Had to have a cover as "Lucy" would get cold.

All polished up and ready to live again

Look at that shiny inside.

Should have the 69 Statesman complete this weekend

Here's the last installment to this project. This is an early 70's Red Statesman. I added new grates, leg set, and a wood handle. I'm still waiting for the whitewall decals for the original rubber wheels. Had to fix a really bad socket, but it came out great. May I present............Red Skelton

Lucy made him wear a coat..............

Red Skelton dressed and ready to go

And the really clean inside ready to Git Dirty.............

Boy thats a really nice bit of work. IMO, build threads are some of the most enjoyable the forum and your restoration ranks right up there with the best. Congratulations.
