Brethren, got a small pork roast that I want to smoke and since I am now in possession of;
cherry
apple
mesquite
I wondered which I should do today?
Opinions, volumes and all and sundry tips, my brothers and sisters?:-D

I think you have them in the right order already.

+ another 1 here. Love cherry, love apple, not that into mesquite (as I type this I'm thinking I should give that stuff another shot - I have had some great food smoked with mesquite - but I wasn't the cook) - I would use mesquite on beef and sparingly.

I gotta go with Mesquite, it's one of the few locally available choices and I have grown fond of it's taste.

2 chunks apple and 2 chunks of cherry in the uds works great for me with pork

I obviously need to source some lump cherry.
Can trade in these

doitbest.com has it for $8.99 for 10 pounds no shipping to a store near you

Ordered a bag 3 weeks ago and picked it up Saturday afternoon in Ct. Woops sorry just saw where your from.

I'll post the evidence in a thread with pr0n in the title guys.
Wonderful advice!:clap2::thumb:

Sometimes I mix 1/4 mesquite with 3/4 cherry or apple, the sweetness mixes with the smoky flavor.

So, the second prok roast I did with apple wood.
TFO made her amazing potato salad and Slaw.
Well, I did the knife workd and so on but she put it all together.
The diners commented on the apple smokey flavour and it was a brilliant outcome I felt.
Christmas day so we had the usual , halved peaches, nectarines and apricots filled with Drambuie mascapone and blitzed peanuts, brandy snap cups with berries and sherry sponge and custard.
I am doing a chook tomorrow and a tray of enchiladas, salsa, noodle salad with tuna, and a pot of chili beans and Mexican coriander and lime rice.
This smoking is going to get very addictive, see that now.

I REALLY love mesquite on beef or pulled pork. If it is a regular roast, I'd go with the apple or cherry first.
