Can't say for sure where your Sirloin Tip Roast is from. If it is the same thing, that is an exceptional price on it. They go for almost twice that around here (when I can find them).

May 17, 2013 #3 According to THIS, the sirloin tip comes from the round, whereas the tri tip comes from the sirloin. I'm no expert, but since they come from totally different places, I'm not sure they'd be very similar.
